The intense series directed by Richie Mehta, covering the police procedure against the backdrop case of delhi gangrape 2012.
The biggest first Indian show on netflix originals , DELHI CRIME won an International Emmy Award in the 48th edition of awards on monday,
The nominees were 44 from 20 different countries in 11 categories in the award ceremony.
The first International Emmy Award was held in 1973, with the aim of focusing on shows which had international appeal as well as universal resonance.
The show is a reality show which has shown the gang rape 2012 in delhi on december 16.
The lead roles in the series are taken up by show stars Shefali Shah, Rasika Duggal and Rajesh Tailang. The show covers up the investigation of the gandrape from the scratch, it covers all the fictionalised dramatisation.
The story unfolds the investigation of police to arrest the culprits of the incident, known as the Nirbhaya case across the country. The series very clearly shows how the whole incident took place and explain about the brutal gand rape which gave a shock to the whole nation.
The series had an enormous effect on the public so that the victim’s voice will be finally delivered to the nation.
The series created an impact on the public opinion regarding the case and also revealed some facts which were wrongly displayed at that time. Mehta said that, soon after the verdict in 2013, it is inappropriate to make a film on the incident and the case because the verdict has just been announced.
Mehta said he was in a dilemma back when he was in India , he met Delhi former commissioner Neeraj Kumar, who is a family friend to him. He suggested he make a movie in case Mehta stated his reasons for giving it a second thought, so Kumar helped him out about that and told him to read the verdict when it would come out and after that he would introduce him to the officers involved with the investigation of the case. After reading the verdict, he was shocked and proceeded further to ask questions, not in a way that he is asking questions to police cops on investigation but as human beings who are dealing with such incidents that too closely.
However working with the series on such a sensitive case was quite challenging for Mehta but to engage it with the audience he added some more twists and turns to the series.
Now, a second season of the series is being worked upon, the details of which are not quite known, according to a report by IE. Here’s a look at what sets the now International Emmy-winning series Delhi Crime apart.
